Kristie & Luke, 3rd July 2016

An office romance that quickly turned into a lifelong partnership. Kristie and Luke celebrate four sweet years of marriage today, with their two beautiful children, Sebastian and Gabriel.

How did you meet?

It was an office romances - our eyes met for the first time whilst Luke was having difficulty setting up his laptop, I went over to help and the rest was history.

Any funny first date stories?

Luke took me for a drive in his red leather silver sports car convertible. I was uncontrollably giggling at what was a very ostentatious car that I never thought he would own. Driving up Collins Street Luke stalled as the nerves bubbled up on our way to a bar for a drink at the Grand Hyatt.

What is one thing you wish you knew before planning your wedding?

This was both our second wedding so our ability to focus on what was important was very easy. Safe to say I didn’t spend $13 per invitation this time…

What was it about us that made you choose Stones of the Yarra Valley?

It was the perfect setting with everything on the one property which made it easy for all our guests as we floated from the ceremony, to the canapés and then the Barn for our reception.

How would you describe your wedding day?

Romantic, intimate and full of love with our closest family and friends around us. We celebrated everything important to us including family and our deep love for each other.

What traditions did you involve on the day and why?

It wasn’t a tradition, but the inclusion of all the nieces and nephews as our bridal party meant the significance of the day was that much greater for us.

Did you write your own vows? If so, what made you do that?

We did write our vows together, it was one set for us both. It captured our love and gratitude for each other’s unconditional love and care.

If you had your time again, is there anything that you would do differently?

No, it really was the perfect day.

Do you have any advice for couples who are currently planning their wedding?

Concentrate on the things that really matter. Look for the happiness in the smallest things. Don’t plan every detail, let things surprise and delight you.

What does life look like now? Where are you living, what do you do for work, family or fur babies, any epic holidays/experiences?

Well we have been a little busy… on our first anniversary we found out we were having a beautiful baby boy as we drove through Daylesford. Sebastian joined us on January 2018 and 7 months later were were expecting again! Nine months later we welcomed Gabriel. Our little boys are full of life, giggles and lots of ball sports (already!). We had to question each other on what our anniversary date was as for us every day feels like a celebration. Everything we dreamed of and more.
