September at Stones - kicking off spring with colour, light, and new life

As we launch our new Seasons at Stones series, we begin with spring, a season of quiet beauty and fresh beginnings.

As winter fades and the Yarra Valley begins to bloom again, September offers a magical window of opportunity for couples looking to tie the knot in one of Victoria’s most stunning wedding destinations. At Stones of the Yarra Valley, spring’s arrival is marked by the delicate beauty of the bud burst, a breathtaking display as the vineyards wake from their winter slumber, painting the landscape with fresh greens and soft hues of new life.

It’s a time when the property transforms. The trees that line our driveways are flush with fresh foliage, the gardens hum with early blossoms, and the vineyard rows come alive with the first signs of spring growth. This incredible palette makes September ideal for romantic ceremonies and stunning photography.

Chase the Light: Evening Wedding Timings in September

Being outside of daylight saving time means we adjust our evening wedding schedule to take full advantage of the natural light. By bringing your ceremony forward by one hour (4:00 pm start), we ensure you exchange your vows in daylight, followed by professional photography.

It’s not just a ceremony; it’s a moment to remember forever. Imagine saying “I do” as the sunlight filters through the stained-glass windows of The Chapel, followed by your portrait session bathed in the ethereal light of early evening. It’s the golden hour glow photographers dream of.

More Time to Celebrate: An Optional 11:00 pm Finish

Make the most of every moment with the option to extend your wedding later by an extra hour. While our standard conclusion time is 10:00 pm, couples getting married in September can choose to keep the dance floor alive until 11:00 pm for an additional fee. More time to laugh, dance, and revel with your loved ones under the stars and the soft glow of festoon lights.

Why September?

Natural Beauty: Be among the first to witness the spectacular bud burst, a true sign of new beginnings.
Perfect Lighting: Earlier ceremonies mean more daylight for your celebration and professional photos during golden hour.
Mild Weather: Enjoy spring’s mild temperatures—perfect for guests and ideal for outdoor mingling.
Extended Celebrations: Take advantage of our later finish option and soak up every last minute of your special day.
