Lucy & Michael – Saturday 19th October, 2019

Tell us about your proposal…

After 5 years together Michael surprised Lucy in April 2018 with a romantic night away in the city and proposed to her that night.

Tell us a little about the planning process

The planning process was something we enjoyed doing. We made most of the decisions together and ensured we were organised to prevent as much stress as possible. We also worked with some amazingly talented suppliers who made the planning process so much easier.

What was the best piece of wedding advice you received?

Keep things simple, go with the flow and let the suppliers do their thing!

What was it about Stones of the Yarra Valley that made you choose us?

What a picturesque place for our perfect day! Stones was the first wedding venue we went to and we instantly fell in love with its beauty. We were so happy with our decision to get married at Stones, it was everything we could have asked for and more!

What did you think would be your favourite part of the day? What did it end up being?

We thought the ceremony would be our most favourite part of our day, however finding out we were going to be parents for a second time was definitely the highlight.

What traditions did you involve in the day and why?

We had a fairly traditional ceremony and chose to follow a few old wedding traditions like sharing our first dance, throwing the bouquet and garter and following the rules of “something old, something new” for good luck.

Was there a particular vibe or theme you were aiming for on your wedding day?

We were aiming for a fairly simple and classic wedding with a timeless vibe. We wanted it to be something we would look back on in years to come and love it just as much as we did on the day.

If you had your time again, is there anything you’d do differently?

We had the most amazing day and wouldn’t change a thing!

Any words of wisdom on marriage?

Learn to love simply, to be supportive and understanding, to educate and be educated by one another and laugh often.

Where are you now? Living, career, family?

It has been a crazy year with COVID-19 but we were lucky enough to welcome another beautiful boy into our world.
