Matthew Batty is the founder and lead pyrotechnician of Northern Fireworks, a Victorian-based company specialising in custom-designed wedding and event fireworks displays. With more than twenty years of industry experience, Matt has worked across weddings, festivals, television, corporate events, and large-scale community celebrations, creating displays that are both technically refined and deeply memorable.
Since 2017, Matt has worked closely with Stones of the Yarra Valley, developing tailored fireworks experiences that complement the venue’s stunning landscape and atmosphere. His approach is highly collaborative, guiding couples through ideas, colours, effects, and music selections to create displays that feel personal to their celebration. Drawing on his background in music production and pyromusical design, Matt carefully choreographs fireworks to enhance emotion, timing, and flow throughout the experience.
Known for his calm professionalism and attention to detail, Matt works seamlessly alongside venue staff and creative teams to ensure each display becomes a magical and unforgettable moment for couples and their guests.
